RW Website launch party: Melbourne Part 1

The Real Weddings team had a fabulous night last night at our launch party for the new Real Weddings website; held last night at The Harbour Room in St Kilda.

The Real Weddings team arrived mid-afternoon to help put the final touches on the venue, with its beautiful views over Port Philip Bay. The team from Place Settings had already set up gorgeous white leather ottomans, chairs and couches, the very chic austin coffee table, and our new favourite - the kartell bourgie table lamp.

Victoria Whitelaw and her talented team weren't far behind - and we were blown away by the breathtaking arrangements they created... in no time The Harbour Room was simply overflowing with beautiful blooms!

With everything organised, we all began putting on our frocks (and suits), in preparation for the festivities....

Part 2 coming soon...

What we loved #2

Do we always say it's busy in the Real Weddings office? Well, it's always true. All we can say is thank goodness for RSS feeds, otherwise we'd miss so many beautiful little pretties while we're planning gorgeous photoshoots and organising very special events (more news on that soon!).

So, cup of tea in hand, we've just stopped and sifted through this week's web offerings - and without further ado, here are all the things we loved this week (in no particular order)!

1. Bouquet Monday at The Bride's Cafe.

Mmmm, floral eye candy! We're very excited to learn that this will be a weekly event....

2. The Bride who had a fringe cut on her wedding day, because it's what hubby always wanted.

When we read that gorgeous Italian bride Elena had her hair cut for the second part of her wedding celebrations, just because her husband Gregory had been requesting it for ages, our hearts melted. How many brides do you know that would voluntarily chop their hair off on their wedding day?

3. Vintage postcard invitations

Aren't they sweet? Just perfect for a vintage or travel-themed occasion. Head to
Royal Steamline to see more vintage-inspired goodness!

4. Cake boxes

Are these not THE sweetest things ever? Besides the cake itself of course.
You can get them at www.coxandcox.co.uk.

Sneak Peak: Pretty Loungewear

When you're planning and preparing for your wedding, you'll probably spend quite a bit of time indoors - flicking through magazines and surfing the net for inspiration, organising your invitation list, creating your seating chart, maybe even creating table decorations or favours - so it's important to be comfortable, especially if you're working late into the night!

As you know, we're big fans of pretty things here at Real Weddings, so you can imagine how we ummed and ahhed when the Deshabille winter catalogue of loungeware and sleepware arrived at the office this week! Being comfortable has never been so stylish... and just think how chic you'll look if your fiance drops by!

The new Winter catalogue is available online on Monday, March 8. Head to www.deshabille.com.au.

We may well run into you there! :)

Behind the Scenes - Melbourne Photo Shoot

As you may have heard, the creation of our Winter 2010 issue is now well under way, with photoshoots in Melbourne and Sydney taking place recently, and more coming up very soon!

Last week we were surrounded by beautiful flowers and cakes from some of Melbourne's most talented wedding specialists, including a few new faces! So without further ado we'd like to introduce you to Flower Sanctuary Melbourne, and Sweet Libertine cakes!

Talented Melbourne floral stylist Meghan Bridger is the woman behind Flower Sanctuary Melbourne, and she creates beautiful floral pieces for every type of wedding celebration. The Flower Sanctuary website is currently under construction, but you can get in touch with Meghan at flowersanctuary{at}gmail.com, or on 0408 324 234.

The Real Weddings team were blown away by this beautiful cake, created by Melbourne cake designer Sweet Libertine. You'll be able to see it in much more detail very soon.... but for now, you can see more of stylist Leticia White's work here.

Thanks ladies for sharing your beautiful work with us!

And we'll have more behind the scenes coverage of the creation of our Winter 2010 very soon...
